I am thrilled to announce that I have been nominated for woman of the year for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The Campaign kicks off on March 24th.
My heart lies with the kids. The LLS Children’s Initiative is focused on identifying new treatments, through research and development specific for childhood blood cancers. Today, a child receives the same type of chemotherapy and doses as an adult; yes, the same amount. While chemotherapy can be successful, the ‘poison’ affects children more harshly and leaves lasting results.
I recently had the honor to interview a Mom, Sarah Hall, with a child that has survived leukemia. Her s
on George is a survivor, but he spent about 6 months of his young, 2 year old life in the hospital. George is the honored hero for this years campaign.
When I heard her story I decided our campaign is going to be for children. Children are not just little adults, they are small, fragile, and while resilient, still developing.
Would you like to join this fight? We are looking for sponsors, donors and a few raffle items for the
Grand Finale event on June 2nd. Email us for more info on how to participate.
